This week’s #SundayFacial features my wonderful friend @nikki_makeup. It was a pleasure to talk through Nikki’s daily skincare steps before working our way to a fun and relaxing facial.

A huge part of the #SundayFacial, and in general when I’m applying skincare, is the pleasure of the process. A ritual to relieve the week’s stress and wind down.

We begin with a double cleanse (a must for me when wearing makeup). I’m loving the new Rodial Pink Diamond Cleansing Balm.* It has a beautifully creamy and luxurious texture without being heavy on the skin. For my second cleanse, I reach for one of my everyday favourites the iS Clinical Cleansing Complex.

Next, we swept on one of my Primark x AS Pollution Solution Pads. They contain lactic acid (a PHA) and niacinamide (an anti-inflammatory) for a gentle exfoliation step. They are dual sided (smooth and textured) but I prefer the smoother side as my skin is quite delicate. Nikki actually keeps a jar of these in her makeup kit. They are a great “prep step” when creating a fresh base before makeup.

The whole ritual of a face mask is one of my favourites. We enjoyed smoothing on an indulgent layer of the Sisley Black Rose Mask.* It’s a soothing, plumping and refreshing cream mask; a layer of luxury on the skin. I also apply this down my neck and on the back of my hands (never waste a drop). I like to remove cream masks with a dry flannel pressing it into the skin to remove the excess.

Before applying our hydrating serum we spritz over a generous layer of Chantecaille’s Pure Rosewater Mist.* And yes, it smells as gorgeous as it sounds! Hydrating serums (particularly with a hyaluronic acid base) apply best on damp skin because they are drawn in to moist surfaces. A few drops of the Dr Sebagh Serum Repair* is patted into the skin before that mist layer dries.

Now we want to seal all this moisture in. You can layer on your oil then moisturiser but I love the luxurious emulsion that mixing them together gives. I mixed a few drops of Omorovicza’s Miracle Face Oil* with Dr Barbara Sturm’s Face Cream.* We finish with a soothing and lightweight eye cream. Currently, I’m obsessed with the Elemis Peptide 4 Eye Cream.*

With our nourished and happily glowing skin, we proceeded to film Nikki’s hair care routine. I was intrigued to discover the secrets to those gorgeous curls of hers. You can watch our entire beauty session together on my Instagram Story Highlights.
