After a full-on week of meetings a nourishing and skin repairing #SundayFacial is in order. Something to plump and soothe skin hit by these cold winds. Before we delve into some winter skin repair, I’ll remove my makeup. Starting with my eyes, I use the bi-phase La Roche Posay Respectissime* which I’ve been using for so long and consider it the best to remove even seriously heavy eye makeup. Another staple is the Garnier Micellar Water* to remove my face makeup. Despite the many micellars I’ve tried, this is the one I always go back to.

Tonight I’m using the Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser* which I recently rediscovered. For years, I was obsessed with this cleanser and now I’m happy it’s back on my skincare shelf. It is a blend of salicylic, glycolic and lactic acids. The acids are not it high concentration and it’s a wash-off formulation so it provides that all important gentle exfoliation step. I don’t believe it harsh, excessive exfoliation as it can damage your skin barrier. With its subtle grainy texture, it gives my skin a soft polish for a healthy refresh. A great choice for not overdoing it on the exfoliation especially in the winter when your skin is more vulnerable. And, if you have oilier skin, the salicylic acid in this encourages a more matte finish.

Next up is the Dior Hydra Life Extra Plump Smooth Balm Mask* which I’ve not tried before so I’m presenting you with a live first impression! I’ve been rediscovering Dior Skincare lately and picked this out because anything plumping always appeals to me and my dry skin. The name itself reflects the winter skin nourishment this mask gifts my skin. It has plumping glycerin and vitamin E alongside key ingredient white pine oil. I’ve not come across this oil before but it’s very nourishing alongside squalene which is one of my absolute favourites as a hydrating non-oily oil. This is a 3-minute mask for a quick plumping and hydration fix.

My skin now feels soft and whilst still damp I massage in Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair.* ANR is one of my “forever products”. It will always be in my routine and it layers well with most other skincare I’m trialling. I can’t recommend it enough – you read about it in detail here.

Tonight I’m feeling something light and refreshing around my eyes so I choose the Bareminerals Skinlongevity Vital Power Eye Gel Cream.* Then to end this Sunday Facial with the most nourishing layer, I apply the new Sisley Velvet Sleeping Mask as my night cream. I have been using this 2-3 times a week and it’s a dream. It gives my skin this hydrating and smoothing cushion of repair and protection. A new favourite of mine for over the Winter holidays. If you use my code ‘WITHLOVEALEX’ when you order this mask from Sisley Paris you will receive a free gift worth £65. The perfect treat to create your own relaxing winter skin facial.
