As we approach Spring, I’m seeking out the best skin and makeup products to brighten dull or lacklustre skin and boost post-winter complexions with a fresh glow.

When you think “complexion brightening” your first thought may be to reach for a Vitamin C serum. Not all Vitamin C formulations are created equally but Perricone’s Brightening Complex is a super potent, stable and effective blend with a high concentration (20%) of Vitamin C. Alongside Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid, it brightens, smooths skin texture and treats dark spot discolouration with consistent use. You can browse more of my recommended Vitamin C Serums in this edit.
In the transition from Winter, a cream mask is a saviour for drier skins. I adore this mask which combines a powerful blend of peptides, antioxidants and Malic Acid for some gentle exfoliation. It feels so comforting and rejuvenating on the skin.
Honestly, this is quite the skincare investment but if it suits your budget I highly recommend it as an absolute treat for the skin. A gorgeous gentle and hydrating serum that boosts tired complexions with Cle de Peau’s signature Skin Empowering Illuminator formula. It truly delivers a radiant glow and glass skin finish.
I’m a huge fan of how effective The Organic Pharmacy’s skincare is. I love their classic Carrot Butter Cleanser but don’t overlook this latest cleanser in their range. Although more lightweight than a balm, you still get great massage action. Adding water, it turns into a soothing milky emulsion and leaves skin feeling comfortable, fresh and hydrated.
My absolute favourite makeup base at the moment that delivers on dewy, long-lasting hydration. Shiseido offers buildable coverage with their latest foundation alongside a smooth finish and a luminous complexion. This will be a staple in my Spring makeup bag.
You’ll probably already know how much I love the Augustinus Bader range and this liquid exfoliant is no exception. It’s one of my favourites as it’s gentle, yet effective. A great combination of acids – gluconolactone, lactic acid and salicylic acid. You’ve got a balance of AHAs, BHAs and PHAs so you can address both surface level issues (dehydration and dead skin cells) and get deeper into the pores. This really is the ultimate complexion booster.
